Welcome Olivia Mason Panke!

On September 23rd at 9:04am we welcomed Olivia Mason Panke into our family!  She weighed 6 lbs 10 oz and was 19 inches long.  She was delivered via C-section 1 week before her due date and everything went 100 times better than Owen's delivery.

Owen, Nana Panke & Papa Panke came to visit that afternoon and Owen definitely wasn't interested in the baby at all.  He was more interested in everything that was hooked up to me!

We spent four days in the hospital getting to know our baby girl and determined pretty quickly that her temperament is a little better than brother's was!

Getting ready to go home!

We're back!

For my few blog followers you'll be happy to know, after a long break, I'm going to attempt to get us back on track!  Most of you know that a tree fell on our house in June (on our anniversary, one that I'll never forget!).  We stayed with my parents in Florida for a few weeks, then spent the rest of the time with Kevin's parents in Peachtree City while everything was being repaired.  We are very thankful for them! It was definitely a stressful & frustrating time to say the least. We finally got moved back into our house August 1st, then we welcomed our sweet baby girl in September! Here's to hoping I can find time to keep this blog updated :)

It's a.. GIRL!

We found out last week that we are welcoming a baby girl to the family!  We are so very excited! Of course I've already purchased some cute little girl outfits, it's very hard to resist.

Here's the latest baby bump pic with my lil man!

We've been pretty busy lately trying to get Owen's "big boy" room ready so we can transfer all his furniture to the nursery.  Kevin is actually building him a bed, so it's a work in progress, but we're looking forward to seeing the finished product! I'm pretty sure Owen is going to love it.  Let's just hope he actually sleeps!

It's hard to believe it's May already.  This pregnancy definitely feels like it's going a lot faster, even though I was horribly sick this time around.  Owen's last day of PMO is May 17th, so we're in the last few weeks :(  I'm so glad we did it, I know he's learning a lot being around other kiddos and it's been a great break for me as well.  We're already signed up for the 2's class in the fall. Owen and I are flying to Florida for Memorial day weekend, then we'll probably be at the pool the rest of the summer & of course preparing for baby sis to get here!

Since I've been horrible updating the blog lately, you can check out our shutterfly page for more recent pics!

The Panke family is expanding!

I think it's finally time to announce that we're expecting #2! I'll be 14 weeks this weekend and will officially be out of what has been a pretty horrible first trimester.  Thankfully, the baby is perfectly healthy, but I haven't been so lucky!  This pregnancy has been the complete opposite of how I felt with Owen.  I started having morning sickness all day long starting around week 6 and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.  But I feel like there's light at the end of the tunnel and have been feeling a little better the last few weeks.  We had an ultrasound yesterday and everything looks good with our little peanut.  It's amazing how fast they grow & transform in 4 weeks.

We can't wait to find out in 4 weeks if we're officially welcoming a boy or a girl, even though the tech and the Dr both said they think it could possibly be a girl.  We shall see, it's a little early still.. don't go buying girl clothes just yet!

Grandma Panke stayed with us the last two days while we went to Dr's appts.  We took Owen to get his haircut today.. that wasn't pretty.  He's been so good getting his haircut, but today was like someone was murdering him...wow.  Welcome to the terrible 2's I guess!

At least the weather is starting to warm up a little again. We went from 75 one weekend to 35 the next, not good.  I think we're all ready for spring temps to stay for good! Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend!

Brrrr..it feels like Chicago here!!

Owen is Two!

On Sunday, 2/17, Owen turned two!  Hard to believe, time goes by way to fast!  It still feels like yesterday that I was in labor for 24 hours!!  We had a family party at Uncle Josh and Aunt Cara's house and also celebrated Shelby's 4th Birthday and Grandma Panke's 61st Birthday as they're only 3 days apart!  Owen's theme this year was trains, he loves those choo choo's! We had a really great time and really appreciate all of Aunt Cara's hard work decorating and setting up for the party!

Dance party with Shelby.  Owen loves yelling  Shellbbbyyyy!

After cake walk, Owen walked the whole way with this shopping cart.
Owen got a balance bike from Mommy & Daddy!
Happy Birthday sweet boy!  I'm sure this next year will go by just as fast!

February updates

I'm behind again, it's been a crazy month.  Here's what we've been up to!

Owen got his cast off on 2/5.  He cried the whole time, it's pretty scary when they bring that saw out. They took another x-ray and found out his tibia was actually fractured.  I guess it's pretty hard to detect on an x-ray until it starts healing, it's called a toddler's fracture. He hobbled around on it a few weeks and is just now starting to walk somewhat normal.  Hopefully, this is our last time in a cast!

We went to the Big Apple Circus with the Panke's and the Marullo's.  We had a lot of fun and Owen did a pretty job sitting for the 2 hour show.   The popcorn and cotton candy probably helped a little!

Owen started swim lessons last week.  We signed up for a 5 week session that goes twice a week.  I thought that maybe he'd get more out of it going more.  He tolerates it, but he's definitely not a fish like his Mommy was at his age.  Hopefully he'll warm up to it eventually.  At least it will get him ready for summer at the pool.

Owen's 2nd Birthday was Sunday.  I'll talk more about that in the next post with some pics.  We went to the Dr yesterday and he's a healthy little boy.  He's 34 inches tall & 26 lbs.  He's not really forming sentences yet, but he is saying a lot more words.  This weekend he said "Papa" for Grandpa for the first time.  Grandma wasn't too happy ;)  He's also saying please and thank you.  He's becoming more friendly and saying hi and bye to strangers.  It shouldn't be too long till he starts putting all these words together.

One week down...One to go!

We survived the first week with the cast on, it hasn't been easy! Luckily, he's walking around on it pretty well now.  The first few days were pretty rough, a lot of whining, but it's getting a little better as I try to find things to entertain him.  Yesterday we made some scotch a roos and later in the afternoon I let him use the extra rice krispies to play with, he enjoyed transferring cupfuls to different bowls... it's the little things!

Helping Mommy

Who knew that transferring  rice krispies to different bowls could be so fun!

This morning we went to the Botanical Gardens to get out of the house and get some fresh air.  Owen did pretty good walking around, he was in the stroller at first, but that didn't last long.  He wanted out of there! Tomorrow we're going to attempt to go back to PMO, hopefully that goes well since he hasn't been in two weeks.  Wish us luck.. 7 days to go!

Update on Owen's leg

Well it's official, Owen has a broken fibula.  I took the lil guy to the Orthopedic Dr yesterday afternoon and he took one look at the x-ray they took at the hospital and said it was broken.  I just wish we could have figured this out earlier... not 5 days later! Luckily, he only has the wear the cast for two weeks.  The Dr said he should be able to walk in the cast, but he hasn't really yet. He's taken a few steps holding my hand, but he doesn't seem too thrilled about it.  Before the cast he was back to crawling around, but he can't even really crawl now because the cast goes all the way up his leg.  I'm sure he'll figure out a way to get around, it's just going to be a tough few weeks for both of us! Here's to hoping that it heals well and we don't have any issues after he gets the cast off!

Rough Week

It's been a rough week for Owen.  It started out with a cold last Wednesday.. fever, cough and runny nose.. that prevented him from going to PMO all week.  Then Friday at noon he slipped and fell running through the hallway and hurt his leg.  He took a record long 4 hour nap after it happened and woke up not wanting to put any weight on it.  Saturday morning we went to the Dr and they didn't really see anything wrong with it, no swelling or bruising.  He learned Saturday that he can crawl to get around, so that was his mode of transportation the rest of the day.  Still no walking on Sunday or Monday morning, so we went to the hospital, got an x-ray and it was negative, no broken bones.  Still no walking this morning so it looks like we're going to an Orthopedic Dr.  It's all very strange! Let's just hope this clears up soon, I forgot what it's like to have a child that doesn't walk, it's not easy, especially when they weight 27 lbs! Think positive thoughts for Owen!

Rain, rain, go away!

It's been very rainy the last few days in Atlanta.  We were going little stir crazy so we decided to check out a new indoor playground called Catch Air.  It took Owen a little bit to warm up to the idea that he can do whatever his little heart desires, but after that he had a blast!

New Year's

We spent New Year's Eve at the Marullo's new house in Greensboro, GA.  We had a really great time and Owen and Shelby had a lot of fun together.

Aunt Cara dressing Owen up, he's so fancy ;)

I accepted the polar plunge challenge for $100 New Year's day.  Can't say that I've ever swam in 48 degree water... it was pretty cold!
